Biography

YB Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang is a seasoned civil engineer and prominent Sarawakian political figure representing the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) under the ruling local coalition, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

Born and raised in Kuching, he is a full-fledged alumnus of St. Thomas’ primary and secondary schools. He pursued higher education abroad, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1983. He spent decades in public service as an engineer, eventually serving as the long-time Chairman of the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

Currently, he serves as the state assemblyman (ADUN) for Batu Kitang, a position he has held since 2016. He is a fierce advocate for state autonomy, rural infrastructure development, and the fulfillment of Sarawak's constitutional rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63)
