Biography

Dr. Ashwin is a multi-disciplinary serial entrepreneur, engineer, and creative powerhouse operating at the intersection of deep tech, sustainability, and the arts. Holding a PhD centered around "artreneurship," his career spans from managing major corporate engineering projects to pioneering AI-driven environmental solutions and revitalizing local creative infrastructure in Sarawak.

He began his career as a project engineer at Petronas, managing major industrial projects across Malaysia. Driven by a desire to create direct regional impact and give back to his home state, he transitioned out of corporate employment to pursue entrepreneurship full-time in Kuching, building and scaling companies across multiple sectors.

Currently, Dr. Ashwin serves as the CFO and Co-Founder of EB Tech, a deep-tech enterprise leveraging artificial intelligence and drone technology to track and manage carbon credits across five countries. He is also a co-founder of Insera Creatives and Haus Kch, where he helped convert an abandoned building in Kuching into a thriving creative hub and community space for Sarawak’s artists, designers, and independent performers.

Performing under his creative stage name Machaka Mata, Dr. Ashwin is an active rapper, poet, and stand-up comedian who advocates for integrating artistic expression with business acumen. Alongside his business operations, he frequently mentors early-stage startup founders across Sarawak, offering strategic guidance on startup funding, synergistic co-founder partnerships, and sustainable business models.
